History

1990 – Metroplex Industries, Inc. (MII) was founded as a local, minority-owned environmental engineering and consulting firm.

1999 – Entered into a protégé/mentoring partnership with Veolia Water North America Operating Services, Inc. (formerly US Filter Operating Services). Metroplex became Veolia’s Minority Business Enterprise Partner on water and wastewater privatizations projects in Southeastern US.

1999 – Acquired Jacksonville, Florida-based Robert Bates & Associates, Inc., strengthening the environmental engineering competence and adding civil and water engineering disciples to our business expertise.

2000 – Acquired Houston, Texas-based HMA Environmental Services, adding solid waste management engineering capabilities and further strengthening civil engineering depth.

2001 – Opened Great Lakes office in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to serve as the base of operations for engineering, consulting, and automotive in-plant waste recycle services in this geographic area.

2003 – Entered into a Strategic Minority Business Enterprise Partnership with Onyx Industrial Services to offer a comprehensive portfolio of service offerings to better meet customer needs in the automotive, defense, industrial, and municipal markets.

2004 – Metroplex acquires Project Tank Cleaning Group of Onyx Industrial Services. This acquisition is in keeping with Onyx's committment to mentor and include minority businesses in its operation and supply chain, and Metroplex's vision to be a national, premier provider of industrial environmental services.

2004 – Metroplex Industries changed its name to MetroplexCore. The new brand and name better reflect the stature of a national corporate entity with a portfolio of professional and operational management companies serving the automotive, industrial, defense, and municipal markets.

2004 – To meet the needs of specialized markets, MetroplexCore established three new business units: MetroplexCore Operating Group, MetroplexCore Engineering & Consulting Group, and MetroplexCore Industrial Group.

2004 – Consummated teaming agreement with Onyx Industrial Services' Sewer Group to provide technical engineering, project management, and business development support to sewer infrastructure and risk assessment business ventures.

2006 – Divested from Onyx Industrial Services through the buy-back of shares and consolidation of offices and business units to bring MetroplexCore strength as a minority business enterprise owned 100% by founder, owner and CEO Willard L. Jackson Jr.

2007 – Earned the distinction of becoming the 13th preferred supplier to Chevron U.S.A.
